We play in the Canterbury and Western Suburbs District Association, and have both senior and junior teams. Last year we were the biggest club in the district, with more than 300 players. This included 18 junior and five senior teams, as well as more than 80 kids playing in the Milo competition on Friday afternoons, and this year will also be introducing a girls’ team in the Sydney Rivers Competition.
Junior Cricket is played on Saturday mornings, generally starting at 8:30am and finishing at about 12:30. All teams from the Under 10s and above use leather balls, pads, helmets and all the equipment similar to seniors. Under 9s use soft balls and modified rules. Senior Cricket is played by adults on Saturday afternoons. Many Summer Hill juniors graduate to the senior teams. Milo Cricket is for young players who wish to learn the basics of cricket while having lots of fun. It is played at Pratten Park, Ashfield on Friday afternoons. Girls’ Cricket is played in the Sydney Rivers comp on Saturday afternoons, in the Under 14s division. However, age consideration can be given for both older and younger girls. Girls can also play in the junior competition. |
