In 2009-10, SHCC will introduce the position of Club Captains.
Club Captains will be selected from the senior age group (within the Junior club, ie U16s) by a selection panel appointed by the Committee. It is envisaged that the Club Captains (eventually one boy and one girl, but two boys this season until the Girls’ team becomes established) will represent all SHCC players at community and sponsors’ functions, attend any media events involving the Club, take on a mentoring and leadership role with junior players, and lead the Captain’s Committee, made up of players from all age groups who wish to have a say in Club decision making. It is hoped that the role of Club Captains becomes an important and recognized leadership role for players and parents alike. |
